WHITE SALMON — After a storm hits the valley, Peter Ealy rides his dirt bike through the back roads of Washington’s woods in search of fallen trees to salvage and reuse. With it, he creates unique wood pieces using traditional carving and woodworking techniques.

“I’m always looking for cherries,” Ely said, adding that she also often looks for maple and walnut hardwoods.
