Willis Hunt

Willis (Will) McGowan Hunt of Lexington passed away peacefully on March 26, 2023 at his home in Lexington. He was 92 years old.

Born in Montreal, Canada in 1930, the son of Faye Herrick Hunt and Angeline Willis Hunt.

A longtime Lexington resident, Mr. Hunt is survived by a daughter, Kimberly McCarthy and her husband, Clay McCarthy, of Vista California;

Mr. Hunt was preceded in death by his wife Joanna (Hart) Hunt, his sister Ann Hunt, daughters Stacey Montalto and Stephanie Irby, and his ex-wife Natalie (Krylak) Hunt.

Mr. Hunt attended Queen’s University in Ontario. He then moved to the United States to attend Harvard Business School. He remained in the country after graduation and was employed by Cabot Corporation as a marketing and finance project manager. He then became a marketing consultant.

After retirement, Mr. Hunt pursued his passion for woodworking as an active member of the Lexington Arts and Crafts Association (Lex Art) Woodworking Guild. He is dedicated to improving and perfecting his split wood turning skills and launched his The Turning Point to showcase his beautiful bowls. Will has always been a friend and mentor to all who shared his craft.
